Answer to Dr. Strangelove and the Teeth Conspiracy

Correct answers include A, B, C, and E. The outer layer of the pericardium is the fibrous pericardium. Somatic sensory fibers are supplied by the phrenic nerves. Reflecting the fibrous  pericardium (middle figure) now exposes the parietal pericardium on its underside. This too receives somatic innervation. The visceral pericardium surrounds the heart  (line 4), but is not visible to the naked eye. The visceral pericardium is insensitive to somatic pain. It receives visceral sensory innervation from sympathetic nerves (T1-T4) and vagus nerves. Finally, in 5, the parietal pericardium is again visible after removing the heart.
