Answer to Life is a Cabaret

Correct answer is C. The singer is suffering from an excessively long styloid process that is likely impinging on her glossopharyngeal nerve. Unlikely the singing had anything to do with exacerbating the symptoms.  Perhaps during her exercises she may have injured her styloid process. This is the more likely scenario. Regardless, there are two approaches to removing the styloid. One is going through the palatine tonsillar bed, the other is going through the retromandibular space. The approach chosen was the pharyngeal approach and entails removing the palatine tonsil. The palatine tonsil is located deep to the area indicated by 3.

Postscript: Sally Bowles is the name of Lisa Minelli in the movie Cabaret where she sings up a storm.
