Answer to the Software Scuffle

Correct answer is C, the adductor magnus. If you follow the indicated muscle, you can see the adductor opening, formed by the two portions of the adductor magnus muscles. Apparently, Herman ruptured the hamstring portion of his adductor magnus. He heard the classic pop of the tear, and the bruise appeared by the time he reached the locker room. But, not only was he in pain when straightening the thigh, when he brought the thighs together, i.e., adducted them, he also felt pain. The adductor magnus muscle is the only muscle capable of adducting and straightening the thigh. Of the two heads of the biceps femoris, only the long head is a hamstring muscle. The sartorius is a weak abductor, not an adductor. The adductor longus does not extend the thigh.
