Answer to Easter Peeps

Correct answer is D. Veins that drain the gall bladder are called cystic veins and they drain directly to the portal vein, or perhaps even directly into the liver. The cystic veins, usually multiple small veins rather than a single vein, drain venous blood from the gallbladder and the cystic duct. They do not follow the cystic artery per se. Recognizing their presence In laparoscopic cholecystectomy is now a common practice and helps prevent iatrogenic  injury to the cystic duct. Of course, all other labeled veins in the image drain to the portal vein.
