Answer to Luck of the Irish Runs Out?

Correct answer is D, the distal portion of the transverse colon. The two images represent the abdominal content. In the image on the left, the greater omentum is in place. In the image on the right, the greater omentum is reflected superiorly. The vagus nerves serves as the major preganglionic parasympathetic nerve and extends from the oral cavity to the distal portion of the transverse colon. The rest of the inferior digestive tract is served by the sacral plexus. Hence, it is likely that Lucky Chucky had removed the colon from his left colic flexure to the rectum. His transverse colon was likely connected to his rectum.
